Hello PRM Community,
We successfully completed our first full week of the 2017-2018 school year! As we move into September, we want to take steps to make sure we keep this momentum going! One practice that will help us do this is incorporating mindfulness into our day. This past week, we started Mindful Music here at PRM. Mindfulness can have an incredible impact on the culture of a school; it allows us to live in the moment and to respond before reacting. Mindful Music allows us the space to transition from the home and neighborhood environment into the school environment. Four practices help all of mindful of the moment:
2. Awareness of Body
3. Releasing Tension
4. Raising Attentiveness
We take 5 minutes each morning to listen to a piece of music performed by the symphony and incorporate these practices as we listen. By doing this, we allow our bodies and our minds to calm and to prepare for a successful school day. Be sure to ask your child about Mindful Music!
