School Principals

Ms. Amber Simpson, Principal

June 27, 2019

Greetings Pleasant Ridge Montessori Families,

My name is Amber Simpson and I am excited to join the PRM community as the new principal. I look forward to continuing our school’s momentum as a thriving neighborhood Montessori school built by a community of caring and committed families.
This year, our focus will complement the District’s overall strategic plan – ensuring that our students gain the skills needed for success in high school, while exposing them to a wide range of innovative and unique experiences to get them thinking about their futures. And, of course, we’ll be continuing the many traditions we’ve developed to help celebrate our tight-knit school family.

I was honored to attend several PRM school events this spring. It brought me tremendous joy to see the student performances and amazing projects, as well as witness the true spirit of collaboration that makes PRM ROCK! I appreciate all of the warm greetings that I have received in face-to-face introductions, notes, calls and emails. You all truly know how to make a girl feel welcomed.

I join the PRM community as a committed educator in the Cincinnati Public School District for 20 years. For thirteen of those years I taught Montessori ages 9-12 students at Sands Montessori School and North Avondale Montessori School. I have been an administrator for six years. I was Assistant Principal at Rees E. Price Academy for one year before being selected to lead Rothenberg Preparatory Academy as Principal, where I have served for the past five years.

As a proud product of Cincinnati Public Schools – having attended Sands Montessori School and Withrow High School – and also as a parent of a CPS student, I understand the importance of effective partnerships. As leader of this unique and innovative community learning center, I look forward to partnering with you to support your child.

Our back to school open house is scheduled for 5 p.m., Monday, August 12, here at the school. This will be our chance to get to know one another and come together to launch a successful new school year.

The first day of school is Monday, August 19th. I look forward to meeting your family.
