Tuesday, September 25th, 2018, the PRM community celebrated a momentous occasion at this years Open House, the 10 year anniversary of Pleasant Ridge Montessori being in the new building. A timeline in the hallway to the cafeteria took parents and students into the past to see little faces and celebrate all the firsts of PRM. Tons of pizza and lemonade brought smiles and tamed hungry tummies. Teachers opened their classrooms to students, parents and the Pleasant Ridge community who took part in scavenger hunts viewing work plans and seeing the unique environment of the Montessori classroom. Coffee Cup class served hot apple cider with gratitude and warm smiles. Girl scouts faithfully helped visitors navigate the open house and directed folks to add their own hands to the timeline of PRM. The book share table that was piled high at the beginning of the night quickly thinned out giving students whole new adventures to tuck under their arms and proudly carry home to be ready for the launch of PRM’s first Read-a-thon. Many community partners were there to share information from Children’s Home to Women writing for a change, to Young Engineers. All the parent organizations from PTO, Foundation, Buddy Families, Spiritwear and countless volunteers carried the community through the evening. Thank you to all the volunteers and the staff, students and community members that made this evening happen. In case you missed it, visit PRM at the Fall Festival on October 13th from 2-5pm!
