Happy fall! Hopefully as the end of the quarter quickly approaches, you and your student(s) are starting to get accustom to the rhythms of this school year. First quarter ends on Friday, but October is still full of events and opportunities for PRM families to come together and be in community.
Tuesday, October 8th is a Boosters Meeting at Nine Giant at 6:00pm. All are welcome to join to help support our PRM athletics programs.
Wednesday, October 9th is School Picture Day. Students may be out of uniform IF they are having their photo taken. To place your order online use mylifetouch.com and Picture Day ID – EVTTW2N4H
Also on Wednesday, we’d like to invite you to the PTO/Equity Meeting at 6:30pm. We will meet again in the library, and we ask that you to enter through the back parking lot doors. Childcare will be provided as well as light refreshments. For our first 30 minutes, we will hear brief updates from Principal Simpson, Ms. Crosby, and our parent leaders. Beginning around 7pm, we will discuss “All Things Math” – learn how to support your student(s) in their math journey and hear what’s new with math at PRM this year from special guests, Alexa Fulmer and Jackie Bonfield. Immediately following the meeting, the socializing will continue at The Fermentorium on Ridge, so if you aren’t quite ready to go home, please consider joining us there.
And there’s more…
Ghoul Fest is on Friday, October 11th at the Pleasant Ridge CRC from 6:00-8:00pm. This is a community wide Trunk or Treat opportunity. If you’d like to pass out treats from your vehicle’s trunk, please arrive to the playground parking lot at 5:00pm. Contact Kendall Bobo at the CRC with any questions.
Wednesday, October 16th is Unity Day and students are encouraged to wear orange shirts as a way to show that they stand for kindness and against bullying. *Students should be in uniform except for their orange shirt (of any kind).
Also on the 16th is the Foundation Meeting at Community Happens Here from 6:30-7:30pm. All are welcome to attend and lend their support to PRM.
The Transition to High School Information Night is on October 17th from 6:00-7:30pm at PRM. This event is an opportunity for our 6th graders and their caregivers to learn about the transition to 7th grade in one of our CPS High Schools. Jen Jarman is championing this event with the support of our PRM Resource Coordinator, Monique Crosby.
The Fall Garden Party on Friday, October 18th from 5:00-7:00pm will be fun for all ages. There will be food and drink, activities for kids, and gardening projects on which to work – join us behind the school in the garden. Be sure to wear shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. If you have questions, reach out to Imago’s Zoe Vanasse
