Read-a-thon Fundraiser – March 9th-15th!

Pleasant Ridge Montessori is thrilled to be celebrating its 8th annual Read-a-thon Fundraiser!  The Read-a-thon has two main goals: the first is to promote good reading habits, and the second is to raise funds to support our unique school.

All students are encouraged to read for some amount of time every day over this week long period. All reading counts!

Students track their reading minutes on their paper reading log envelopes and can either turn that in at the end of the week OR submit reading minutes online.

Supporters, including family and friends, can make cash or check donation (turned in via the reading log envelopes) OR make electronic donations online.

*From feedback last year, it seems like a great method is to track your minutes on your hard copy and then submit the minutes all at once at the end of the week.

Congratulations to the winner of this year’s bookmark contest, Charlie Haluga! All students will receive a bookmark featuring Charlie’s design. Thanks to our staff for voting – it was a hard decision! The two runner up bookmarks belonged to Grace Hilligoss and DeArra Bolden.

And as a reminder, all students who read for all seven consecutive days of the Read-a-thon will receive a free t-shirt so please log all your minutes!

  • The classroom with the highest independent participation will earn a class pizza party with Principal Simpson!
  • The three students from each age group- 3-6, 6-9 and 9-12 who log the most reading minutes will earn a gift card to a local business and a voucher to shop for a new, free book from our local library.
  • As a new prize for this year, Urban Air has donated an Ultimate Prize pack for our top reader! The student who reads the most minutes will win an Ultimate Prize Pack for 4 including 4 ultimate passes and 4 pairs of socks.

There is a lot of fun to be had this week at PRM – please help us make this read-a-thon fundraiser a huge success! Any additional details can be found on the website at www.prmrocks.org/readathon.
