Parent Leadership Groups

There are a number of active parent leadership groups at PRM. All parents and caregivers are invited and encouraged to attend monthly meetings to get involved.

PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) is made up of parents/caregivers and staff members. There is no need to sign up or join, as you are automatically a member by having a student enrolled at PRM. The PTO focuses on community building and helps with the communication between school and families. PTO organizes various events to foster connections as well as supports our PRM staff.

Foundation (The Pleasant Ridge School Foundation) is the nonprofit arm of PRM, which allows PRM to fundraise and accept tax‐deductible donations. The Foundation is made up of parents/caregivers, staff members at each level and community volunteers who help develop and implement large scale initiatives to benefit the school, students and the entire PRM staff.

Boosters supports PRM by helping ensure that students are given opportunities to participate in a variety of recreational athletics. Sport Coordinators communicate with our various leagues and volunteer throughout the year to organize our PRM teams.

LSDMC (The Local School Decision Making Committee) is the primary governing body of our school and is composed of four major constituency groups; parents/guardians, teachers, non-teaching staff including the principal, and community members. Each group has equal representation and an equal voice in the decision-making process. The LSDMC sets goals, develops a plan for meeting those goals, and monitors progress toward goal attainment by conducting mid-year and end-of-year assessments. The LSDMC makes school budget decisions, submits changes in the school’s programing, and participates in the selection of the principal.

ILT (The Instructional Leadership Team) is designed to share in the instructional leadership decisions to improve student achievement at PRM. The ILT is composed of at least 60% teachers. A Team-Leader represents each team of teachers. The principal, two parents and two non-teaching staff members also serve on ILT.  During the school year the ILT makes decisions about issues that impact instruction and events that take place during the school day – items such as proposed changes to school programing or updates to the school calendar.

Elected parent representatives attend all meetings to ensure presence and representation and then give the minutes to PRMRocks.org to share on these pages.

Please reach out to parent leaders using the volunteer directory or plan to attend a meeting by finding the details on the PRMRocks Calendar.
