Once upon a time, there was a school that changed the world…and it all began when they read a book. Years and years from now, books will be written and some of the heroes and characters will have come from Pleasant Ridge Montessori. It all begins when a teacher places a book in front of a student. They read the story and they do not know the ending. We don’t know the whole story of PRM, as it is continually being written, but it begins everyday as each book is opened at school. Ms. Simpson began PRM’s 2019 Read-a-Thon Kick-off assembly with describing how some students are learning to read and some students are reading to learn. Starting September 27th through October 4th, students will be tracking their reading and working towards various rewards to celebrate the Read-a-thon at the annual Fall Festival on October 12th. They will ask family and friends to support them by reading to them, listening to them read and donating money to the school. The magic of reading continued during the assembly with a magic show by Charlie Cadabra with a Dr. Seuss theme! It ended with a special magic trick with a real white bunny! Get ready to read!!
